Opening Ceremony for IPL 2023: Date, time and how to watch on DAZN

The world's biggest T20 tournament begins on Friday when the IPL returns for a 16th season. 

The opening game will see defending champions the Gujarat Titans face the Chennai Super Kings in what should be a thrilling contest to get the competition underway. 

Whenever an new IPL season commences, it's a huge occasion, therefore it's no surprise that an opening ceremony will be taking place to mark the start of two months of must-see T20 action. 

Here's everything you need to know about this year's IPL opening ceremony and how to watch on DAZN. 

When is the IPL 2023 opening ceremony? 

  • Date: Friday, March 31
  • Start time: 12 p.m. BST

The opening ceremony is set to start at 12 p.m. BST with the match between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings scheduled to start three hours later at 3 p.m. BST. 

Where is the IPL 2023 opening ceremony?

The opening ceremony will take place Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.

This is the world's largest cricket ground and can hold up to 132,000 fans.
