The 11th tournament of the LIV G14-event 2025 season sees a returns to JCB Golf and Country Club, England, for consecutive seasons for this week’s LIV Golf UK by JCB.

Where and when is this week’s event?

It is taking place at the JCB Golf & Country Club in Rocester, near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, between Friday and Sunday.

Last season’s inaugural event at the Midlands venue attracted huge crowds and featured a breakthrough win for Jon Rahm plus a 255-yard ace from John Catlin.

Now, the LIV Golf all-stars get their second shot at the JCB Golf & Country Club, with lakes, island greens, and parties beneath the trees.

It is one of the newest golf courses in England.

It was opened in 2018 and is the work of Lord Bamford and Robin Hiseman.

How does the LIV Golf calendar work?

Fourteen three-day events will be held between February and August this year.

2025 has seen another packed calendar of LIV Golf, which began in Riyadh before further events in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, Mexico, South Korea, and two more in the USA before the most recent one in Valderrama, Spain.

Now it heads back to England for the first of four remaining events of the year, with stops in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Michigan still to come.

How does LIV Golf work?

The action begins with a shotgun start, meaning there will be 18 groups of players spread around the course at each hole, all teeing off simultaneously.

Over three days of fast-paced competition, there are no cuts, so all 54 players are in the game from the first drive right up to the final putt.

While 52 of those players will be attached to one of LIV Golf’s 13 teams, there are also two places for Wild Card players who will have the chance to impress during the year.

The player with the lowest score after 54 holes wins, but everybody has something to play for as their individual performance contributes to their team’s success.

Which LIV golfers should we keep an eye on?

While Scottie Scheffler won The Open Championship at Royal Portrush last week, Bryson DeChambeau finished as the highest placed LIV golfer in a tie for 10th place.

Jon Rahm did not enjoy his best performance in Northern Ireland, finishing in a tie for 34th place and 14 shots behind the winning score.

Despite that, he opens as one of the bookmakers’ favourites to win this week, along with DeChambeau, Tyrrell Hatton, and Joaquin Niemann.

Brits Graeme McDowell, Tom McKibbin, Sam Horsfield, Richard Bland, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, and Paul Casey should all feature.

Who owns LIV Golf?

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, a sovereign wealth fund racing towards a trillion dollars in worth, is the primary investor in LIV Golf.

These riches would explain why the top stars have received huge sign-up fees, north of $100,000,000 in some cases, and why this start-up tour has made such a splash in the professional game.

The prize money at stake is $25 million ($4 million for the winner, $5 million paid to the winning four-man team).

What sort of experience can fans expect?

The LIV Golf Fan Village will feature various interactive activities for all ages, along with numerous food and beverage outlets and live concerts.

The interactive fan challenges - including one where fans chip a ball into the bucket of a digger - help to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Norwegian DJ and record producer Kygo will perform live on stage on Saturday evening, adding to what promises to be an amazing atmosphere.

The dance music sensation has topped the bill at Ultra in Miami, has his own residency in Ibiza, and made history by closing the Rio Olympics.

He also became the fastest artist to reach one billion Spotify streams, and LIV Golf organisers say: “Each LIV Golf is a celebration, both of golf’s great traditions and its bold new future as a game for all.

“We want all our fans to feel the love, in an atmosphere that’s electric, euphoric, and, above all, inclusive.

“Kygo’s vibe is a perfect match for ours. We can’t wait to welcome him.”
