Borussia Dortmund topped Group F by two points from Fluminense FC after their win over Ulsan HD in Cincinnati. CF Monterrey, meanwhile, were runners-up in Group E and ended with an entertaining 4-0 triumph over Urawa Red Diamonds.
The German side have no fresh injury concerns to contend with and look set to continue with new signing Jobe Bellingham in the attacking third. Monterrey rotated last time out, and could recall Sergio Canales for this one.

"They are a top team, as were Internazionale (who Monterrey drew with in the group phase). I firmly believe, knowing the challenge of what we’re facing, that we will have chances. We have to defend with all 11 players and, when we attack, we are going to show up and we’re going to be courageous. I think we will be competitive to the very last moment. We want to show Mexican football can compete at this level.”
Domenec Torrent, Monterrey coach
"We've worked our way up game by game. It's not easy here, and we're not at our limit yet. That's why we're not done yet and are really looking forward to the next game. Of course, we want to win that too."
Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund forward
