FIFA announced Tuesday that the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, seen worldwide on DAZN, was a record-breaking event enjoyed by billions around the world.

The summer tournament, hosted in the United States and won by Chelsea, drew 2.5 million fans to matches across 11 host cities. An analysis conducted by Nielsen Sports showed that the competition was seen around the world by an estimated 2.7 billion fans across all forms of media, driven by DAZN – the competition’s exclusive global broadcaster which recorded its highest single day of registrations on the opening day of coverage.

With awareness of the tournament reaching 80% of football fans worldwide, "FIFA Club World Cup" became the most searched-for term on Google among sporting competitions from the opening match on June 14 to the day of the final on July 13. That led to DAZN’s social channels delivering over 10 billion impressions as the global sports entertainment platform elevated fan engagement through immersive content that went far beyond the matches themselves.

"The numbers demonstrate the extraordinary global appetite for accessible, high-quality football content," said Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN. "Our partnership with FIFA for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has set a new global benchmark for experiencing football and the tournament has shown just how powerful the sport can be when presented through a digital-first, fan-centric lens. Together with FIFA, we are proud to have set new standards for global reach and engagement and to have connected fans around the world to one of football’s most exciting tournaments.”
