After a goalless opener, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ touchpaper was lit on Day 2 as a couple of the pre-tournament favourites emphatically underlined their title credentials.

Auckland City FC and Atlético de Madrid were the unfortunate victims as FC Bayern München and Paris Saint-Germain's in-form and star-studded sides turned on the style - and piled on the goals.

No fewer than 14 of them hit the net in the day's opening two games before the action concluded with a hard-fought 2-1 win for Botafogo at the home of Seattle Sounders.

Group A, meanwhile, was left too close to call - and still searching for its first goal - after Palmeiras and FC Porto followed Al Ahly and Inter Miami in battling to a scoreless stalemate.

Group C
TQL Stadium, Cincinnati

Braces were bagged by Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise and Thomas Muller, a hat-trick plundered by Jamal Musiala, as the ruthless and relentless German champions racked up double figures.
