Chelsea at the double in FIFA Club World Cup opener against LAFC

While they were never truly in danger, Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Los Angeles FC on Monday was not as comfortable as they would have liked.

The Premier League giants are expected to top Group D of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and they came away with three points in their tournament opener thanks to goals on either side of halftime from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez.

However, the MLS side were up for the match and created some opportunities for themselves, with LAFC registering four shots on target to Chelsea's six.

It was ultimately a good result for the Blues, but LAFC will be happy with their second-half performance against the reigning UEFA Conference League champions.
