The MLS club were the final qualifiers for the tournament, and while they are underdogs to defeat Chelsea, they boast a championship pedigree of the highest order on their squad. Will it be enough to stun the English giants?

Chelsea vs LAFC will take place at 3:00pm ET in Group D on Monday, June 16 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Where is Chelsea vs LAFC?
Chelsea vs LAFC will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
The impressive venue was completed in 2017 and is the home of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United of MLS. A major site for events, "The Benz" has hosted a Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four and several high-profile international football matches.

The Blues come into the Club World Cup on a high as their last competitive match was the UEFA Conference League final — which they won by easily defeating Real Betis.
That match was 19 days before Chelsea's group stage opener at the Club World Cup, but the London side will have welcomed the short break from a long season that saw them finish fourth in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League.
A team with designs on trophies, and boasting world class talents like Cole Palmer, Chelsea will look to make a fast start at the Club World Cup ahead of bigger matches to come.

LAFC
The Black and Gold are in fine form heading into the Club World Cup, having not lost in 10 matches across all competitions. That streak includes the May 31 play-in qualifier that LAFC won against Mexican side Club America, which was followed up with a 3-1 MLS victory over Sporting KC.
As they are still in season, LAFC will have no concerns over rust as the win against SKC came just eight days prior to this match. They also contain a serial winners in the form of French World Cup winners keeper Hugo Lloris and striker Olivier Giroud, with the latter set to face his old club in this one.

While LAFC will have no problems acclimatizing to the surroundings, they are still overmatched in almost every facet against the Londoners. The MLS club could catch Chelsea with a quick counterattack, but the bulk of the play will belong to the Premier League side, who should win comfortably.
