Cole Palmer sends brutal three word message to Chelsea critics after Club World Cup success

Club World Cup player of the tournament Cole Palmer hit back at critics following Chelsea's magnificent 3-0 Club World Cup triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.

The Premier League underdogs stunned the French outfit with a stunning performance from the first to the last minute of the final, which left the Champions League winners looking out of energy and out of ideas for the entirety of the contest.

Chelsea's high press and intense pressuring, despite the New Jersey heat, stopped their opponents from gaining any of their normal attacking momentum in the match.

Instead it was Chelsea who dazzled in the final third, on a night where they could have won by an even bigger scoreline.

Palmer was back to his scintillating best, notching up a brace before the 30 minute mark, before setting up João Pedro's third just before the break to seal the contest.

It marks a remarkable season for Chelsea, who under a new, inexperienced Premier League manager in Enzo Maresca and with a huge, but very youthful squad, were written off by many at the start of the season.

A mid-campaign slump that saw them slip down the Premier League table led to even more criticism that the club had lost their way yet again.

 

But the Londoners finished in incredible form, sealing a Champions League spot with a top four finish and winning the Europa Conference League. 

Now they are officially the best team on the planet after lifting the new Club World Cup trophy in the U.S after a month long campaign. 

Palmer, named the Superior Player of the Match in the final to go with his player of the tournament award, believes their success shows the great progress they have made and that there is plenty more to come.

Speaking live on DAZN post match, Palmer delivered a clear message:  "Everyone has talked a lot of sh-t about us all season.

"It is a great feeling to win this. Before the game everyone doubted us and that makes this win even better.

"We are building something special here, something important here. We have a young team with plenty of potential.

"But I feel we are going in the right direction and can go on and win a lot more in the future if we keep going this way."
