Thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 to win their maiden UEFA Champions League title will not be enough for Luis Enrique and his Paris St-Germain side.
They want more, and heading into the FIFA Club World Cup - where you can watch every game live on DAZN – the Parisian giants are now aiming to rule on the global stage.
“We are going to continue to conquer the footballing world,” Enrique boldly declared in Munich after his side recorded the biggest-ever victory in a European Cup final.
And so, having fixed their sights on building a dynasty of success, attention now turns to becoming the first French club to win the FIFA Club World Cup.
It would be quite some addition to their bulging trophy cabinet and complete a remarkable quadruple.
A quick glance at PSG’s squad suggests it would be foolish to dismiss their hopes of going all the way in the US for the biggest and most lucrative Club World Cup yet.
Enrique’s men have been pitted in Group B with Atletico Madrid, Botafogo and Seattle Sounders; not the easiest of pools but they should have more than enough quality to progress.
The aristocratic French outfit, who open their campaign on Sunday against Atletico at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, have lost stellar talents such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in recent times.
This, though, is a new PSG with a new identity, blessed with players such as Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and a manager who has harnessed their talents to devastating effect.

Desire Doue is currently the talk of European football, with the brilliant Frenchman ably assisted in attack by compatriot Dembele and Georgia winger Kvaratskhelia.
Between the sticks Gianluigi Donnarumma might be the best goalkeeper in the world right now, and there is such balance in this slick PSG side.
Credit to Enrique, of course.
He has performed an amazing job since taking the reins at the start of the 2023-24 campaign.
The Spaniard guided PSG to a domestic treble in his first season in charge and in 2024-25 he masterminded another three trophies – a record-extending 13th Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France and the Champions League.
Enrique etched his name into history after leading PSG to not only their maiden Champions League, but also their first treble.
He became only the second coach to win the continental treble with two different clubs, having achieved this feat with Barcelona in 2015.
Qatar Sports Investments bought the club in 2011 and had to wait 14 years to win the Champions League, the trophy they so desperately craved.
Having reached the pinnacle of European football, Paris St-Germain will now bid to scale the summit on the global stage.
After the season they have just had, you would not bet against them.
