Jermaine Pennant believes Arsenal needs to target a new striker if they want to fulfil the long-term vision of the club.

Mikel Arteta didn't splash out on a new frontman in the summer and has continued to deploy Kai Havertz in that position for the majority of his team line-ups this season.

However, talking to Safest Casino Sites, Pennant says while the German has done better than many fans thought he would have in that position, Arsenal still need a striker and has earmarked the perfect signing.

He said: “It’s an interesting debate. I’ll hold my hands up and say I was one of the people who didn’t think Havertz was up to the task when he first signed, but he’s found a new position and style of play under Mikel Arteta and has become a vital focal point up front for Arsenal this season.

“Is he the answer to Arsenal’s striker problems? At the moment you might say yes, but in the long-term, I’d say Alexander Isak is the solution for the club.

"If Arsenal can sign Isak from Newcastle as their number nine, that would be a perfect fit for all parties – even more so than Havertz.

"If the club want a long-term project and vision, he’d be an absolutely blinding fit.”

Arsenal return to action this weekend as the travel down to the South Coast to play Bournemouth.
