Both managers will have come from the Eredivisie.

Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant says he is "a little bit nervous" that Arne Slot will become the next Erik ten Hag.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will leave the Merseyside club at the end of this season, and Feyenoord boss Slot is the odds-on favourite to replace him.

Should Slot be the next Reds manager, he will follow in the footsteps of current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who had success in the Netherlands before his Premier League move.

Things have not worked out well for Ten Hag at United, though, and there are plenty who believe his days at Old Trafford are numbered.

Speaking to FastestOnlinePayoutCasino, Pennant said: "I’m a little bit nervous about Arne Slot. No disrespect to the Eredivisie, it’s not really a competitive league.

"It’s such a big step up for a massive club and I keep thinking, is this going to be another Erik ten Hag?

"Liverpool are in a better situation than United were when Ten Hag took over, but I’m still a little bit skeptical. He’s failed to please the United fans.

"I don’t see a decline at Liverpool like the one David Moyes had with Manchester United.

"Nobody thought Liverpool would be where they are after the season they had last season, new signings have gelled in quickly, so I don’t see a Moyes decline.

"It’s about the manager getting the right philosophy for the club."
