Manchester City and Arsenal players dominate the team.

Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has named his Premier League team of the 2023-24 season, and only one player outside of Arsenal and Manchester City makes the cut.

Pennant's team of the season consists of six Arsenal players, four Manchester City players and then one Chelsea player.

But of them, Pennant says that Phil Foden has been the best player in the Premier League this season.

Foden has 16 goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, to go with his five goals and three assists in the Champions League.

Speaking to FastestOnlinePayoutCasino, Pennant said: "My player of the season is Phil Foden, when other key players have been out he has stepped up to the plate.

"There are not a lot of players in my team of the season apart from City and Arsenal players. You have to go with Arsenal’s defensive record and put David Raya in goal.

"I’d go for Kyle Walker right-back and William Saliba and Gabriel in the middle, then I think at left-back I’d say Josko Gvardiol who has played there for City at times.

"Declan Rice has been absolutely phenomenal for Arsenal in that holding position in midfield, next to him I’d say Martin Odegaard, what a captain he has been for Arsenal.

"I’d have Phil Foden as the number 10, my player of the season, as well as Bukayo Saka, Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer. I can’t look anywhere else."
