Chelsea FC have added another star to their FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ attack by signing Joao Pedro on a long-term deal from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Brazil international is already training with his new team-mates in Miami, having agreed a contract that runs through to 2033.

The 23-year-old is a major signing for the Blues, having impressed at both Brighton and, previously, Watford and Fluminense, and has arrived in the US with silverware firmly in his sights.

Speaking to the Chelsea website, he said: "Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history. They had brilliant players in the past and have brilliant players now. So I am excited to join and you know when you are a Chelsea player you must think one thing — win.

'I grew up watching the Premier League, and Chelsea were a club that won trophies. So, when you join Chelsea, you can only think one thing: to win trophies.

'Every competition, you have to think, "I play for Chelsea and that is my ambition".

Chelsea face Brazilian giants Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-finals on Friday, 4 July, having progressed to the last eight with a 4-1 extra time win over Benfica.
