Joe Cole can see why Arsenal would want to sign Harry Kane, but has ruled out the possibility of the England skipper moving to The Emirates.
Kane reportedly has a buy-out clause in his contract that kicks in this summer, and for a cut-price deal in January 2026, putting Premier League clubs on red alert.
The news has seen Kane's name linked with a possible move to Arsenal, who still lack an out and out goalscorer, but despite the idea making footballing sense, Cole thinks the ex-Spurs striker might find it difficult signing for their North London rivals.
“I can see the logic with Harry Kane joining Arsenal – stranger things have happened," he told Paddy Power.
"He’s gone to Germany, and he’s carried on where he left off. The man just oozes goals. For Arsenal, as a footballer, he would be the perfect last piece in the jigsaw – he suits them down to the ground.
“I can’t see it, however, - there’s such a wrench between the two clubs. I think it would be too much for Harry.
"Sol Campbell joining Arsenal from Spurs was a bit different to this, but from a football perspective, it makes a lot of sense, because he is perfect for their style of football.

Before the Gunners can think about recruiting for next season, they still have plenty to play for this campaign. They currently trail leaders Liverpool in the Premier League, and while Cole thinks a title win is beyond them, Mikel Arteta's men could still have a say when it comes to the Champions League.
Adding: “There’s a weakness in the balance of Arsenal’s squad – there's a lack of goals from open play compared to what Liverpool and Manchester City are doing.
"The front three – any of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus – they needed to add goals somewhere in that line-up and they haven’t.
"They’re not as good as Liverpool – and City will come out of their rut, and I think they will finish above Arsenal.
“Arsenal can still win the Champions League – on their day they can beat anybody, but to consistently win the league, they need to add more goals and penetration up top.”
