As Europe's domestic seasons slowly draw to a close, the excitement builds for the showcase of football on show this summer as the USA hosts the FIFA Club World Cup, with every game live on DAZN.
The tournament has been revamped for 2025 and will now see 32 of the world's greatest teams compete in a new format akin to a major international competition.
It means fans in America and beyond will get to experience the buzz of a major finals, a year before they co-host the World Cup in 2026, a feeling that US legend Landon Donovan is already looking forward to.
Speaking exclusively to DAZN, the former Everton, Bayern Munich and LA Galaxy player believes the US is the perfect setting for fans to come together and experience a feast of tournament football.
"It is a World Cup, but just with your club team, right? That is quite literally what it is," he said.
"The beauty of the World Cup is that I've gone now as a fan and I've gone as a player, and I went when I was 12 years old in the Rose Bowl from my first ever professional soccer game that I got to see. I watched Argentina play Romania that day.
"You can sit at a table with someone from Algeria, next to someone from Sweden, next to someone from Argentina, next to someone from Egypt, and they're all hanging out, drinking beer, having fun and enjoying it together.
"They don't speak the language. Nobody knows what anyone's saying, but they're just having fun together. And it's gonna be the same.
"And the beauty of having it in America is that there will be Al Ahly fans, Boca Junior fans, Inter Milan fans, and obviously MLS fans.
"I don't think there's another country in the world where you'd have fans from literally every single team participating that are gonna show up and support their teams.
"That's gonna make it incredible. It is."
