Liverpool are already in a must-win situation, according to Emile Heskey.
The Reds started the season brilliantly, winning their first five Premier League matches and building a five-point lead atop the standings as they aim to defend the league crown they won last campaign under Arne Slot.
However, the wheels fell off as Liverpool proceeded to lose four straight in the league plus several more across all competitions over the past few weeks, allowing Arsenal to take over the league lead and dropping the Reds down to seventh place ahead of this weekend's action.
And while there are still 29 games left in the league this season, former Liverpool and England striker Heskey believes his old club have already slipped too far down the table to afford any more defeats.
"No, they can’t afford to lose another game if they want to win the Premier League," Heskey told 10bet Casino.
"They can’t afford to drift further from the top of the league. It’s Arsenal’s league to lose now, I think.
"However, I think all the teams in the hunt will drop points at some point, here and there, but it won’t be massive, so Liverpool can’t slip up again."
