Manchester City comfortable in Group G opener against Wydad AC

Manchester City kicked off their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Wydad AC on Wednesday in Philadelphia.

The Premier League giants got on the board through Phil Foden in the second minute of play, then added another three minutes before half-time thanks to a powerful Jeremy Doku header.

Wydad, while overmatched, did have some threatening moments in the game, but ultimately could not match the standard of Pep Guardiola's men.

There was a moment of negativity for City late in the match however, as Rico Lewis was given a red card for a reckless tackle.
