The midweek games saw some major drama in the National League, with Forest Green remaining the team to beat, while Mark Hughes' Carlisle were soundly defeated.

Now attention turns to the weekend's action, with two live games to watch on DAZN, as two unbeaten sides in the division look to maintain that record and a top-of-the-table showdown to look forward to.

Here's the pick of this weekend's action to watch on DAZN.

Andy Butler Scunthorpe

Games to watch from the National League this weekend

Boreham Wood vs Woking

  • Date: Saturday, September 27
  • Time: 12.30 pm BST

Boreham Wood were so close to ending Scunthorpe's unbeaten start on Wednesday, but Luke Garrard's men are still exceeding expectations and sit in the top four of the division as things stand.

Next up, they entertain Woking in front of the DAZN cameras to kick off the weekend.

Neal Ardley's erratic side has hit a bad run once again, with only one win in their last five, and needs to get back on track to avoid being sucked in at the bottom again.

Southend United vs Scunthorpe United

  • Date: Saturday, September 27
  • Time: 3 pm BST

Scunthorpe are one of only two unbeaten teams left in the division, having kept their record intact on Wednesday as they salvaged a draw against Boreham Wood.

It's a remarkable achievement for Andy Butler's promoted side, but they face a big test this weekend as they head to Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers have hit a patchy run of form following a good start to the season, so they'll be looking to get back to winning ways in front of their home fans.

Forest Green Rovers vs York City

  • Date: Saturday, September 27
  • Time: 5:30 pm BST

The weekend's standout fixture comes in DAZN's live teatime offering as top-of-the-table Forest Green entertain York City.

It was these two sides who battled with Barnet for automatic promotion last season, with both, in the end, coming up short. This time around, it's Rovers who have become the pacesetters and are yet to lose a game this season following their win over Altrincham in midweek.

However, York have promotion ambitions of their own, and will be fired up after thrashing the big boys of Carlisle 5-0 in one of the results of the season so far.
