The end of October is also known as spooky season, and it lived up to that moniker for some Premier League clubs over the weekend.

While Arsenal continued their run to what they hope is their first league title in over two decades, some of their biggest challengers took a hit.

We try to make sense of it all in the latest Power Rankings, which are not meant to look at the overall picture, but rather to provide a snapshot based on current form, strength of opposition, and other factors. As always, these rankings are based on Premier League play only.

Here are DAZN News' Power Rankings after Matchweek 9.

1. Arsenal (no change)

The Gunners will gladly take a gritty 1-0 victory every week for the remainder of the campaign.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Burnley

2. Manchester City (no change)

Pep Guardiola's men ran into a red-hot Aston Villa at the wrong time.

Next match: Nov. 2 vs. Bournemouth

3. Crystal Palace (up 1)

Losing to this season's version Arsenal isn't a shame, and Palace actually rose thanks to the next team on this list.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Brentford

4. Liverpool (down 1)

After four losses in a row, the Reds are lucky to still be this high. That will change if they don't improve, though.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Aston Villa

5. Brentford (up 1)

It was the Bees who delivered the latest loss to Liverpool, and they looked relatively comfortable doing it.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Crystal Palace

6. Newcastle (up 1)

A nice 2-1 win over Fulham gets the Magpies back on the winning track.

Next match: Nov. 2 at West Ham

7. Bournemouth (up 1)

The Cherries cruised to a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest, with their next test a massive one.

Next match: Nov. 2 at Manchester City

8. Chelsea (down 3)

Their two-game win streak came to an end at the hands of Sunderland.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Tottenham

9. Tottenham (up 3)

Was their three-goal victory at Everton a statement?

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Chelsea

10. Manchester United (up 1)

Three wins in a row for the Red Devils! They made things way too nervy at the end, though.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Nottingham Forest

11. Aston Villa (down 1)

That's four straight wins for Villa, although they still got leapfrogged by a couple of teams.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Liverpool

12. Fulham (down 3)

On the flip side, Fulham's lost four straight and are bottoming out quickly.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Wolves

13. Sunderland (up 2)

Three wins in four for the Black Cats, with arguably their most impressive victory coming this past weekend.

Next match: Nov. 3 vs. Everton

14. Burnley (up 3)

A decent away win, albeit against Wolves, gives them a boost.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Arsenal

15. Brighton (down 2)

Fought hard against Man United, but their inconsistency has dragged the Seagulls down.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Leeds United

16. Leeds United (up 2)

A win's a win, even against West Ham.

Next match: Nov. 1 at Brighton

17. Everton (down 3)

The Toffees lost big time at home, which will affect their ranking in kind.

Next match: Nov. 3 at Sunderland

18. Nottingham Forest (down 2)

Will this club ever win another game? The new manager bounce simply does not exist for Forest.

Next match: Nov. 1 vs. Manchester United

19. West Ham (up 1)

The Hammers fell to Leeds, but still move up because they were less bad than Wolverhampton this past weekend.

Next match: Nov. 2 vs. Newcastle

20. Wolves (down 1)

A team seemingly destined for relegation. They were woeful at home once again.

Next match: Nov.  1 at Fulham
