Wolves star Aït-Nouri linked with Manchester City ahead of FIFA Club World Cup

Manchester City are tipped to secure the signing of Wolves full-back Rayan Aït-Nouri as part of their summer revamp before into the newly revamped  FIFA Club World Cup .

The Algeria defender is being tipped to make the move to the Premier League heavyweights before this year's global tournament with every match live on DAZN .

The star has risen to prominence at Molineux and City boss Pep Guardiola appears primed to swoop in a deal reported to be potentially worth around £50 million.

Starting in 37 out of their 38 Premier League games proved his robustness and with four goals and six assists from open play, Aït-Nouri’s reputation soared this season.

City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak wants to complete most of their close-season business in time for the Club World Cup with their first game on June 18 against Wydad AC.

The Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki is another target as Guardiola looks to strengthen at left-back after playing the centre-back Josko Gvardiol and the midfielder Nico O’Reilly out of position there for most of last season.

City are among the clubs to have tracked the Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, but he is being heavily linked with Liverpool as a potential replacement for the long-serving Andy Robertson.

Aït-Nouri has impressed in four seasons at Wolves, for whom he initially signed on loan from the Ligue 1 club Angers in October 2020.

The 23-year-old has 12 months remaining on his contract, with Wolves having an option to extend his deal for a further year.

The Black Country outfit, who have already sold Matheus Cunha to Manchester United in a £62.5m deal this transfer window and it remains to be seen whether Aït-Nouri could be their next high-profile departure.
