The Seattle Sounders prepare for their first FIFA Club World Cup after a decade at or near the top of Major League Soccer.
A powerhouse in the USA's Pacific Northwest, the Sounders have made the sport mainstream in their city, and now they get to play on the biggest club stage on home soil.

DAZN News has everything you need to know about the Seattle Sounders.
As the club name suggests, the Sounders represent the city of Seattle, Washington in the United States.
Their stadium, Lumen Field, lies in the heart of Seattle, which is located on the American West Coast.
The current Seattle Sounders FC kicked their first ball competitively in 2009, but the club traces its roots all the way back to the 1970s.
That's because they are the third team to use the name "Seattle Sounders," with the first being an NASL side that existed from 1974 until 1983.
A second iteration of the Seattle Sounders was formed in 1994 to compete in the A-League, where they played until 2008. Ownership from that team gathered new investors and were awarded an MLS expansion franchise to start in the 2009 season, effectively "promoting" the Sounders from the second division into the top flight.

The Sounders have been one of the dominant forces in the US game and won all the silverware available to them. That includes titles in their pre-MLS incarnation.
As an MLS side, Seattle's most successful spell began in 2014 and culminated in their only CONCACAF Champions League title to date in 2022.
Note: Honours won by the NASL Sounders (1974-83) not included.
The Sounders boast several familiar names from the US national team, but they have also been the home of international players such as Freddie Ljungberg and Obafemi Martins.
Danny Musovski and Albert Rusnak share the team league for goals in MLS play so far this season, with five apiece.
Seattle captured the CONCACAF Champions League in 2022, becoming the first (and only) MLS side to win the regional competition in the modern era.
Brian Schmetzer: "For the soccer purists, the people that don't maybe come to MLS, that watch European football, there's no excuse. You're going to come out and watch three different types of football, as well as our brand of soccer.
"It's going to be every soccer fan's dream to come and enjoy those 10 days of soccer."
