This summer, 32 of the world's best teams will travel to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup , a tournament in which every game will be live on DAZN.
Among the names set to appear in the revamped competition are some of the biggest and best players in the world, but it will also play host to some bonafide legends of the sport—some of whom could bring down the curtain on their time at their club or even careers at the end of the festivities in the USA.
DAZN News counts down ten of the biggest legends who will be competing at the Club World Cup.

Lionel Messi - Inter Miami
Inter Miami are hosting this summer's tournament, and it means there's another chance for football fans to enjoy the magic of watching Lionel Messi in action.
The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has been in sparkling form for the MLS side since the start of the 2025 season and is leading the charge of making more history for the club, both domestically and during the Club World Cup.
His contract with the club expires at the end of the tournament, but there are already suggestions that the Argentine icon is set to sign a new one-year deal that would keep him at the club as they break ground on a new stadium. Messi would also be in the ideal situation to lead his nation in next year's World Cup in North America.

Luka Modric - Real Madrid
The Croatian legend may well hit 40 later this year, but nothing seems to stop the midfielder from doing what he does best in the middle of the park.
Modric has added another 30 appearances to his legacy in Madrid this season, bringing his total to nearly 600 games for the club. In that time, he has bagged four La Liga titles and six Champions League titles, as well as being the Ballon d'Or winner in 2018.
With his contract set to expire this summer, his swansong for the club could be the FIFA Club World Cup, where the greatest Croatian to ever play the game will look to win the competition for a sixth time.

Sergio Ramos - Monterrey
Spain's record cap holder and a man who has won it all in the game, Sergio Ramos, will have one last hurrah in the States as he leads Monterrey this summer.
The 39-year-old signed for the Mexican club in February, with a reported contract worth $4 million, and wore the number 93—a nod to his 93rd-minute equaliser in the 2014 UEFA Champions League final.
Ramos amassed 180 caps for his country, won four Champions Leagues, and lifted the Euros and World Cup during his career. He'll head to America, having also won the FIFA Club World Cup four times with Real Madrid, and look to help his new side make an impact in the competition.

Thomas Muller - Bayern Munich
This summer marks the end of an era when Thomas Muller ends his illustrious career with Bayern Munich at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The German has spent 25 years with the Bundesliga giants and played nearly 800 games for the club, but it was announced earlier this month that his contract will not be renewed this summer.
Muller, who will turn 36 in September, is closing on his 13th league title in 2025, adding to a collection that also includes two Champions League wins and two FIFA Club World Cup medals.
Who'd bet against him and Bayern making it a fitting farewell with another trophy lift in the USA?

Edinson Cavani - Boca Juniors
He's one of the game's greatest-ever goalscorers and he's still banging in the goals, aged 37, in the famous blue and yellow of Boca.
The Uruguayan, who starred for Napoli and became PSG's record goalscorer, signed for the Argentine club in 2023 and recently extended his contract to keep him at the club until 2026.
Last season he notched 20 goals for Boca and despite being in the twilight of his career, he'll be one to watch as always in the States - especially when he comes up against Bayern Munich and goes head-to-head with another world-class striker in Harry Kane.
CA Boca Juniors
Luis Suarez - Inter Miami
38-year-old Luis Suarez could bring the curtain down on his Miami career at the FIFA Club World Cup, with his contract set to expire at the end of the tournament.
The striker starred for Liverpool and Barcelona, and although often controversial, his record speaks for itself when it comes to putting the ball into the back of the net.
The Uruguayan legend has scored 29 goals in just 51 games since joining the club in 2024 and remains one of the deadliest finishers on the planet.

Thiago Silva Fluminense
Brazilians are best known for their array of attacking players throughout their history, but when it comes to defenders, Thiago Silva may go down as the country's best-ever.
Set to turn 41 in September, the centre-back returned to his first club, Fluminense, in 2024 and helped steer the club away from relegation trouble. With a year left on his contract, he'll now lead their charge at the Club World Cup, and his experience will be vital.
It's just another chapter in a career that saw Silva star for AC Milan and PSG, as well as his Indian summer in the Premier League, when he excelled in the centre of Chelsea's defence.

Angel Di Maria - Benfica
Back at the club where he first made his name, Di Maria's story with Benfica could come to end this summer, after the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Argentine has enjoyed spells with Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG, but moved back to the Portuguese side in 2023.
Despite turning 37 in January, Di Maria has continued to be a key man for Benfica and has hit double-figures in goals over the past couple of seasons.
The World Cup winner's final act could be helping the club make a splash in the USA.
Sergio Busquets - Inter Miami
The third of Inter Miami's marquee names is another who could bring an end to his MLS adventure at the tournament.
Largely regarded as one of the best sitting midfielders of all time, Busquets enjoyed a glittering career at Barcelona, where he won ten league titles and three Champions Leagues before moving to Miami in 2023.
He'll be 37 by the time the FIFA Club World Cup ends, and is yet to sign a new deal with the club. Therefore, this summer could be his final outing in the pink and black shirt.

Koke - Atletico Madrid
A legend at Atletico Madrid, there's speculation that this could be the Spaniard's final season at a club where he's spent the past 16 years.
There has been no confirmation of another contract renewal for the midfield general, and the Club World Cup may be the final stage for him and Atletico.
In that time, Koke has won two La Liga titles and two Europa Leagues, and is closing in on 700 appearances. Yet, this season, he has become a bit-part player for the first time in his career.
Still only 33, is a new challenge awaiting him next season?
