The Serie A transfer window has shut for another winter, and all of the madness of deadline day becomes a distant memory and clubs' focus on the job in hand for the rest of the campaign.

It was a window that saw AC Milan add to their attacking arsenal, while Fiorentina dipped into the Premier League for some much needed imputus in their survival fight.

Here, DAZN News picks the five best buys in Serie A this January.

Niclas Füllkrug
West Ham to AC Milan

Milan's attacking options have been key to their unbeaten run that stretches back to the opening day of the season. Having the luxury of calling on Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku has been of huge benefit, but now they've added the physical presence of Fullkrug.

Things may not have worked out for the big German at West Ham, but he's quickly shown what he can bring to the Rossoneri. Power, strength and the tendency to do the dirty work in the penalty box, he offers attributes no one else can in the squad.

The striker isn't even afraid of the Milan number 9 'curse' either, so watch out, Serie A.

Giovane
Verona to Napoli

For a club that has been decimated with injuries this season, it was a good thing to get another option in the door for Antonio Conte, who has seen his club's title defence slowly dwindle away as the casualty list grows longer.

One of the long-term absentees has been Romelu Lukaku, with the club relying heavily on David Neres and Rasmus Hojlund in attack, and the former is also now on the sidelines.

This move for the eye-catching Giovane made sense for the current champions. The agile and technical Brazilian only moved to Serie A this past summer, but impressed at Hellas Verona, where he's netted three times this season.

Able to play anywhere along the frontline, he has the potential to be a very clever signing by Napoli for this season and beyond.

Donyell Marlen
Aston Villa to Roma

Roma's interesting array of attacking options has been further bolstered by the capture of the Dutch star.

Malen probably didn't get the amount of game time his performances warranted at Aston Villa, where he scored ten times in just over 40 appearances, mainly as an understudy to Ollie Watkins.

Villa's decision to let him go blunted their attacking options, but it was a bonus for Roma, and Marlen quickly showed why as he scored on his debut against Torino.

A player with clever hold-up play and a clinical finish, he'll be a useful complement to Evan Ferguson and Paulo Dybala.

Samuel Iling-Junior
Aston Villa to Pisa

A late move from the Serie A strugglers, who have boosted their squad with the loan signing of exciting winger Iling-Junior to help their survival cause.

The Aston Villa man has spent this season on loan at Championship side West Brom, scoring once in 24 appearances in a difficult campaign for the Baggies.

He is a player who will be able to add vital creativity to the Pisa side and comes with Serie A experience, too, having enjoyed two spells in Italy's top flight.

A product of the Juventus NextGen system, he progressed to the first team and was a regular for two years before making the move to Villa Park.

He also spent last season on loan at Bologna, where he scored twice in sixteen games.

Jack Harrison
Leeds to Fiorentina

A candidate for one of the most unexpected moves of the window goes to Fiorentina, who not only drafted in Manor Solomon from Spurs, but also Harrison, too.

The Leeds man spent the past two seasons at Everton while his parent club negotiated its way back to the top flight, but he wasn't able to get a real run in Daniel Farke's team this term.

A direct winger, able to run at defenders, he'll offer Fiorentina a positive output down the flanks and will try to provide the attacking impetus for the likes of Moise Keen.

He'll also have something to prove, having plateaud over the last few years following some real early promise with United.
