Who's in the running to replace Igor Tudor as the new Juventus boss?

Just eight games into the Serie A season, and there's already been a major managerial casualty in Italy's top flight.

On Monday, Juventus made the decision to part ways with manager Igor Tudor following a disappointing start to the season and the club's recent dismal form.

Tudor took charge of the club midway through last season, replacing Thiago Motta, and steered the club to a Champions League place.

However, the Croatian hasn't been able to carry that momentum into his first full campaign in charge, and Juve are now winless in eight games across all competitions and haven't scored a goal in their last three.

Therefore, before the Old Lady gets cut adrift in the title conversation, the club have decided to axe Tudor. DAZN News examines the potential replacements to revive Juventus' season.

Luciano Spalletti

The current favourite for the role is Luciano Spalletti, with reports suggesting club officials are meeting with Scudetto-winning manager on Tuesday to finalise a deal to make him the club's new boss.

The 66-year-old is a vastly experienced coach who's spent most of his managerial career in his homeland, twice bossing Roma, as well as spells in charge of Inter and Udinese.

A three-time Serie A Coach of the Year, he led Napoli to their first league title in over thirty years in 2023 and was Italy's national team manager until he stepped down in June following the Azzurri's troubling World Cup qualifying campaign.

Juve legend Gigi Buffon gave a glowing reference to Spalletti on hearing he was being linked with the job, stating, “For me, Luciano is the right profile for any big club that wants to remain ambitious. You won’t lose many with Luciano."

Given his record in Italy and availability, right now, his appointment is likely.

Roberto Mancini

Another former national team boss, who lifted the Euro 2020 trophy in charge of the Azzurri, and a man who led Inter to three Serie A titles during his spell in charge at the San Siro.

But could we see Roberto Mancini wearing a black and white scarf around his neck this winter? He's certainly in the running, and another name who is freely available, having left his post with Saudi Arabia last year.

Curiously, the Italian has now been out of work for a year, with his achievements in Serie A and the Premier League in that time somewhat forgotten after taking some questionable job roles.

He was briefly linked with Nottingham Forest earlier this month, but he'd certainly welcome a return to Italy's top table.

A former Juventus player in the mid-noughties, Palladino has been out of work as a manager since leaving Fiorentina in the summer.

Still only 41, Palladino made his coaching name at Monza, where he oversaw their first-ever top-flight victory and kept the side up in his first season with the club.

He moved to Florence in June last year and led the side to a sixth-place finish and qualification for the Europa Conference League, but decided not to continue in the role at the end of the campaign.

The romantic choice, but it would be a real shock to see Zizzou make a dramatic return to Turin.

A legend as a player at the club, where he won two Serie A titles and led the Old Lady to two Champions League finals before leaving for Real Madrid in 2001.

He later managed the Spanish giants, where he won a record-breaking three Champions Leagues in a row and managed Madrid to two La Liga wins.

However, he has been out of management since 2021, with the belief that he's being lined up as France's next manager after Didier Deschamps.
