The FIFA Club World Cup is into its final stages as the expanded, new look tournament moves into its final week in the USA.
This year's tournament saw an increase to 32 clubs from across the world competing for the prestigious trophy, with DAZN as the official broadcaster, showing every match live and for free.
For English representation, Chelsea and Manchester City were selected to compete in the U.S, however 2024/25 Premier League champions Liverpool were not.
DAZN News explains why this historic club did not make the trip to the United States this summer.
For this year's tournament, UEFA was allocated 12 teams with three of those spots going to Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea who are the recent winners of the Champions League.
While there was a ranking system in place for the nine other teams, no European country could have more than two teams participate in the Club World Cup.
Therefore, with Manchester City and Chelsea coming from England, there was no space for Liverpool at this year's tournament.
This year's Club World Cup began on Saturday, June 14 when Inter Miami drew 0-0 with Al Ahly FC at Hard Rock Stadium. The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 13 at MetLife Stadium.
In total 32 teams will be competing at the Club World Cup with all international federations represented.
Inter Miami have also been give a place at the tournament as a result of the United States being the hosts.
