York City boosted their chances of automatic promotion this season with the signing of Josh Stones last month, with the striker arriving from Wigan Athletic.
The striker has firsthand knowledge of the National League having enjoyed two successful loan spells at Oldham. This season the 21-year-old netted four times in an eight-game spell with the Latics, prompting York to recruit the striker to bolster their attack.
This past week the forward was a guest on DAZN's Multi-Match Live, where he outlined to hosts Curley and Aaron McLean the biggest differences he's found between Oldham and his new home York.
"At Oldham we played to my strengths, and I had a great partnership with James Norwood," he said.
"Going back there, I knew the trust that the manager had in me. To be honest, both spells I had there I loved every single second of it.
"Going to York is technically different. Training is harder every day and you're coming across technically better players. The playing style is completely different and I think that showed when the teams played each other. York controlled possession, and you can definitely tell the difference in playing styles."
Stones, who moved from League One to the National League for guaranteed first-team football, also praised York boss Adam Hinshelwood, for his honesty and plan which helped convince him to sign for the club.
"He told me we've got a certain way we like to play and you bring something different", he added.
"So if we need to switch it up and need to go in behind, we can do that with you. He sat me down and said it took Ollie Pearce five games to score and look what he's done since then, don't worry if it doesn't happen straight away. If it does, perfect, if it doesn't, then it doesn't.
"That's all you want as a player, if managers are up front and honest with you rather than beating around the bush and giving you excuses. You can't ask for more than that and you want to work hard for them."
York City are next in action this Saturday as they welcome Woking to the York Community Stadium.
