Could WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas finally be the scene where Jey Uso fulfills his destiny of becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

He is going to try to accomplish just that Saturday evening when he challenges titleholder Gunther in Night One of "The Showcase of the Immortals."

Will Gunther continue his dominance over Uso with yet another crushing victory over him? Or will Uso record the biggest win of his career to cement his own singles legacy?

With the excitement soaring, DAZN News analyzes which WWE Superstar has the edge heading into this clash.

Wrestling Styles

What will give when the old school surgical, yet smashmouth style of Gunther collides with the diversified move set of Jey Uso?

Well, anyone sharing the squared circle with Gunther should anticipate to be grappled, grinded down to a halt and hammered into mush. After all, he is “The Ring General” for a good reason, right?

This methodical wrestling style is what Gunther specialized in during the longest reign as Intercontinental Champion in WWE history before segueing into his current World Heavyweight Championship stronghold.

As aggressive and unrelenting as that style could be, overwhelming most opponents, “Main Event” Jey Uso’s creativity in the ring could very well solve the complex puzzle that is Gunther.

Uso tends to launch his superkicks out of nowhere, both to give him an edge or spell him relief in key match sequences.

Plus, he takes to the sky with the best of WWE Superstars, detonating his Uso Splash toward major victories.

Would his repertoire of moves be enough to snatch the World Heavyweight Championship in “The Showcase of the Immortals?”

We’re about to find out.

Until then, he gets the slightest edge here. Yeet!

Edge: Uso

Experience

Seemingly all Gunther has done through his WWE career is win gold.

He successfully attained the NXT UK Championship, then enjoyed the longest reign in Intercontinental title history (666 days), and is now dominating the very top of the food chain as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Uso, too, is no stranger to gold, having been an eight-time WWE Tag Team Champion (five-time SmackDown Tag champ, three-time RAW Tag titleholder) with brother Jimmy on The Usos. He also proved his singles mettle by claiming the Intercontinental title in September, though that reign only lasted 27 days.

Furthermore, the Gunther-Uso in-ring history points the needle in favor of “The Ring General" for another reason.

Heading into their WrestleMania 41 showdown, Gunther already owns victories over Uso, having defeated him as both World Heavyweight Champion and Intercontinental champ.

That gives him the comfortable edge in experience heading into Saturday night.

Edge: Gunther

Mental Warfare

That Gunther already owns wins over Uso should be enough to give him the psychological edge. But this one is a bit more complicated than that.

Remember that “Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn lost to Gunther a couple of times before ending his historical Intercontinental Championship reign at WrestleMania 40 last year.

Uso can do the same … especially if Gunther is a bit too self-assured.

If Gunther has not learned a lesson about the pitfalls of being overconfident, he just might be ripe for the picking in losing his title.

Gunther upped the heated ante by beating Jimmy Uso to a bloody pulp while forcing twin Jey to watch.

But could that have sparked Jey’s will to break Gunther’s bastion on the WWE Universe?

It is very possible.

Edge: Uso

Who has the edge in Gunther vs Uso?

After analyzing three key categories, Jey Uso gets the slightest nod, 2-1, when it comes to the overall edge.

One can easily argue this in Gunther’s favor, pointing to his history with Uso.

However, there is a looming component here that cannot be overlooked — destiny.

Uso, a Superstar with WWE for over 15 years, has never won the big one.

Gunther has already downplayed what yet another win over Uso would do for “The Ring General’s” pro wrestling ledger.

But an Uso win over Gunther to become World Heavyweight Champion would solidify his ring moniker of “Main Event” and put him in the annals of WWE history forever.
