How did Botafogo qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
Botafogo will look to impress on their tournament debut when they head north to the United States and compete at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Brazilian outfit, one of four teams from the country who will fly the flag at the 32-team event, arrive after their most successful season last term.
That comes with expectations however, and in a group with two European heavyweights, they will know they are among the outsiders to progress.
But just how did they seal their berth for the revamped Club World Cup, set to take place across the United States between June and July this year? DAZN has all the information.
How did Botafogo qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
Botafogo are one of six CONMEBOL teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and qualify as the winner of the 2024 Copa Libertadores.
That actually made them the last team to secure their sport at the tournament, having defeated Atlético Mineiro in a 3-1 encounter to seal the deal.
2025 FIFA Club World Cup: Botafogo schedule
Botafogo have been drawn into Group B, alongside Atletico Madrid (Spain), Paris Saint-Germain (France) and Seattle Sounders (United States).
In order to reach the knockout stages, they must first successfully navigate this opening stage where the top two teams from each group will qualify.

When is the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will begin on Saturday, June 14 when Inter Miami takes on Al Ahly FC at Hard Rock Stadium with the final scheduled for Sunday, July 13 at MetLife Stadium.

How many teams are playing at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
In total 32 teams will be competing at the Club World Cup with all international federations represented.
Inter Miami have also been give a place at the tournament as a result of the United States being the hosts.
