An Ashes series always brings the best out of Australia when they come up against England.
More often than not, it was the Aussies who had stranglehold on the historic urn with England's recent success in the five-match contest only being a regular occurrence within the last 18 years.
As a result of Australia's dominance, they have been responsible for some iconic moments including Shane Warne's ball of the century to Mike Gatting at Old Trafford in 1993.
But how many Ashes series have Australia emerged victorious from?
Australia have won 34 Ashes series out of the 72 played against England, and have won 150 of the 356 test matches in addition to 96 draws.
Australia's last Ashes series win was in the most recent edition played between December 2021 and January 2022.
This series took place Down Under where Australia often dominate and they won 4-0.
The only test match they did not win was the fourth test in Sydney, which was drawn.
The Compton-Miller Medal was given to Australia all-rounder Travis Head.
The next Ashes Series takes place in 2023 and the full schedule can be found below.
