Midway through the play-offs, Ricardo Sá Pinto's Standard de Liège impressed and closed the gap on Blauw-Zwart. On the penultimate matchday, away at Sclessin, Ruud Vormer got away with a handball and assisted Jelle Vossen for an important equaliser. Which eventually saw Club Brugge crowned as JPL champions for the 15th time.
