Jose Ramirez is planning to shock the world this weekend when he goes in with Devin Haney on a huge Times Square show, live on DAZN.
Ramirez and Haney are hoping to rebound from disappointing performances last year and the winner can expect another huge fight in 2025.
Haney was dropped three times by Ryan Garcia in his last fight before losing wide on the scorecards , but the result was later changed to a ‘No Contest’ after it was revealed Garcia had failed a drugs test.
For Ramirez, the former unified world champion was hoping to breathe life into his career last November, but he was defeated by Arnold Barboza in Saudi Arabia.
Both fighters are competing with a point to prove and whoever comes on top will be in a great position to land huge money showdowns against the likes of Garcia and Teofimo Lopez.
Ramirez, who has been based in his native California for this fight, will be trained by the brilliant Garcia and he knows what he has to do if he wants to claim a big upset against Haney.
Discussions have already taken place about a Garcia vs. Haney rematch , but Ramirez has other ideas and plans on shocking the world.
“I have to put them together because I’m more explosive now,” said Ramirez when speaking to BoxingScene .
“My style of boxing is not about hurting them with one punch. The best version of me is going in and out, always being there to land.
“Having that consistent pressure, being fast – jab-right, to the body and the head. I can break anyone down.”
