Former women's featherweight world champion Skye Nicolson has found herself in a war of words with Jake Paul's business partner Nakisa Bidarian.

Bidarian and Paul have made a huge impact on boxing with Most Valuable Promotions, especially in the women's code where they have signed a number of major stars.

One of those is unified women's super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney who recently fought on the undercard of the trilogy fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano last month at Madison Square Garden.

That night, Scotney beat Yamileth Mercado to unify the IBF, WBC and WBO 122 lb titles meaning she now just needs one more world title to become the undisputed champion.

It's no surprise that Scotney has a target on her back, and Nicolson is one of those in hot pursuit of a chance to face the 27-year-old.

However, after calling out Scotney following her win over Carla Camila Campos Gonzales in July, Bidarian criticised the Australian and made a point about Nicholson fighting at 124 lbs, not the 122 lb super bantamweight limit.

In an appearance on DAZN's Ariel x Ade: The Boxing Show, Nicolson was given her chance to respond to these comments and admits that she may have to wait for a chance to face Scotney.

"The fight was agreed at 124, it wasn’t a title fight," Nicolson said.

"I actually weighed in at 123.9, so I don’t know where he got 124.2 from. I did make weight comfortably and I will prove that I can make the weight in this next fight which is agreed at 122.

"I love the Ellie fight, I know she’s going for undisputed right now, so I don’t blame her for that being her main focus, but I’m always going to be open to that fight and chasing the champions at 122 and 126."

There was a chance the Scotney-Nicolson fight could have been made when the two were under the Matchroom umbrella, but both women have gone their separate ways.

While undisputed honours is something that Scotney will be pursuing in the immediate future, Nicolson reiterated that this will not deter from continuing to chase the chance to become a two-weight world champion.

"The only talk I ever heard of it was Ellie calling me out after one of her recent fights which I positively responded to," Nicolson continued.

"I have asked about that fight as well, it’s a huge fight for the UK.

"I don’t know where Nakisa got the idea that my team didn’t want that fight, or that fight was rejected, anything like that. My team’s always been very open to that fight and we still are."

Nicolson returns to action on August 23 when she takes on Urvashi Singh in Australia which she hopes will be the platform to a world title shot at super bantamweight.
