The NFL’s first-ever regular-season game at Berlin’s Olympiastadion was one fans won’t forget in a hurry.
The Germany crowd watched Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor put on a clinic — 244 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and the longest run of the 2025 season as he helped his side defeat the Atlanta Falcons in a 31-25 overtime thriller.
Already the clear frontrunner for Offensive Player of the Year, Taylor’s fourth three-touchdown outing in his last eight games sent a statement that while running backs like him are so often ignored in MVP talks, the truly elite deserve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the league’s best quarterbacks.
Despite facing relentless pressure all night, Colts quarterback Daniel Jones stayed composed, throwing for 255 yards, including a touchdown to Alec Pierce and another 99 yards to rookie tight end Tyler Warren, who finished just a yard shy of his first 100-yard game.
For Atlanta, Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier did their part, combining for 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Drake London also chipped in with 104 and a touchdown.
But the night belonged to Jonathan Taylor and the Colts. His eight-yard overtime touchdown not only sealed the win but gave him 65 career rushing scores, breaking the franchise record held by Hall of Famer Edgerrin James.
With the victory, the Colts move to 8-2, stretching their lead atop the AFC South and tightening their grip on a playoff berth.
For the Falcons, the result was a fourth consecutive loss, dropping them to 3-6 and leaving them desperately searching for answers on offense after another lacklustre outing from quarterback Michael Penix.
