The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions are coming off very different Thanksgiving experiences. The Cowboys used some home cooking to stave off the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-28, while home-field advantage did not help the Lions get giant turkey legs as they fell to the Green Bay Packers, 31-24.
Now, the surging Cowboys (6-5), winners of three straight games, look to add the Lions (7-5) to their growing list of statements as they have scored wins over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs over the past two weeks.
Dak Prescott enters the game at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday second among quarterbacks in yards passing with 3,261 this season.
The Cowboys defense held Chiefs running backs Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco to 58 yards and 16 yards, respectively, and will look for a similar effort in slowing down Lions’ rusher Jahmyr Gibbs, who ranks in the top five for running backs in yards on the ground with 1,019.

Currently experiencing their first losing streak of the season, the Indianapolis Colts will step onto the field at EverBank Stadium in Florida against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, aiming for a big win.
With both teams 8-4, the pivotal game’s winner will take sole possession of first place in the AFC South.
Though he remains the leading rusher in the NFL this season with 1,282 yards, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has failed to punch in a touchdown in Indianapolis’ past two losses. Plus, he has been limited to under 100 yards rushing in each of those defeats.
The Jaguars and their top-rated running defense, allowing a stingy 82.4 yards per game, hope to hinder Taylor from piling up the yards as well.
The teams will meet again in Week 17 in Indianapolis, making this game crucial.

Just when Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens were surging with five straight wins, they suffered a setback in a 32-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that had them commit five turnovers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers did not fare well in Week 13 either, getting routed by the Buffalo Bills, 26-7.
Now, the heated division rivals — 6-6 apiece — meet for first place in the AFC North at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Sunday.
Will the two-time MVP Jackson get the Ravens back on track after all those turnovers? Or will Aaron Rodgers power the Steelers to what would be a huge victory?

Are the Chicago Bears the class of the NFC or the league, period? Or should the same question be posed about the Green Bay Packers?
Fresh off making a big statement with a road win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bears (9-3) menace their way onto Lambeau Field to battle the Packers (8-3) for first in the NFC North and Conference overall.
Integral to the Bears’ success this season has been their running game — second-best in the league. Their 24-15 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles had Kyle Monangai and D’Andre Swift ring up 130 and 125 yards, respectively, with a touchdown each.
Let’s see how they fare against a Packers’ top-five defense, which is allowing just under 19 points per game.
Not to mention, Packers’ quarterback Jordan Love is coming off arguably his best game of the season, airing it out for 234 yards and four touchdowns in completing the season sweep of the Detroit Lions.

The Kansas City Chiefs' (6-6) playoff chances are in the balance on Sunday night as they host the hot Houston Texans (7-5) at Arrowhead Stadium under the lone spotlight of Sunday Night Football.
While Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have lost three of their last four games by an average of 4.3 points, the Texans have produced four straight victories, powered by the No. 1 defense (allowing 16.5 points per game).
That unit features defensive ends Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., who have 11 sacks and 10.5 sacks, respectively, this season.
Not only did Houston return starting quarterback C.J. Stroud in a key win over the Indianapolis Colts last week, but the Texans’ defense has rattled opposing QBs for 14 sacks the past two weeks.
