Two of the host countries of next year's FIFA World Cup will square off Thursday as Canada take on Mexico in the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League.
The Canadians are coming off a dream year in 2024 as they finished fourth in the Copa America and were undefeated against CONCACAF sides in all competitions. That includes an October friendly against the Mexicans, which finished 0-0 and extended Canada's undefeated run against El Tri to three matches.
As for Mexico, they won slightly more than they lost in 2024, claiming six victories across all competitions while losing five and drawing three times. They had a Copa America to forget, exiting after the group stage, which led to the hiring of manager Javier Aguirre for the third time.
Here's what to know about Canada vs. Mexico before their semi-final match.
The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time, which is 10:30 p.m. in the Eastern Time Zone.
Thursday's match will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, USA.
It is the home of the NFL's LA Rams and LA Chargers, and it holds up to 70,240 fans.
