Cole Palmer may be available for Chelsea in their match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior mentioned Palmer's status during his pre-match press conference on Friday, stating that the 23-year-old's progress has been encouraging.

Palmer has only played in one of Chelsea's last four matches, missing out on the Blues' midweek Champions League victory over Pafos as well as their 3-2 loss to Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals and the club's 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup.

He did play the full 90 minutes of Chelsea's 2-0 Premier League win against Brentford on Jan. 17 and scored a goal, showing his importance to the Blues' attack. Rosenior believes Palmer is close to returning to action but wanted to see the player in training before making a final decision.

"Cole is in a good place," Rosenior said. "He joined in training today, which is really positive and we will assess his reaction to training after the session."

Palmer has made 13 appearances across all competitions for the Blues this season, scoring five goals.
