The quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League A kick off this week, and one of the match-ups involves Italy hosting Germany.
Both sides have been dormant since November, when they completed the group stage of the competition.
The Germans put together an unbeaten run through the group stage, finishing first in Group 3 with four wins and two draws. Germany suffered just a single loss in all of last year, which came in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
Now they aim to continue that momentum into 2025, with the Italians standing in their way. Italy were runners-up in Group 2 but they finished tied on points with group-winners France, indicating a possible return to the upper echelon for the Azzurri after a last-16 exit at the European Championship.
Here's what to know about Italy vs. Germany before their first leg match.
