Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Xabi Alonso's relationship with part of the locker was practically off track from the start after the decision not to include Luka Modric this season: "Modric was prepared to continue for another year, but Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid went in another direction (...) Modric's departure was not well received by part of the locker".
