Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season continues with arguably the biggest game of the season so far, as the Baltimore Ravens (6-6) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6) in an AFC North rivalry game loaded with playoff stakes.
Each team needs this one badly, and neither needs any reminder of what the outcome means to their chances of January football.
So read on for more information about what promises to be a thriller, then take advantage of DAZN’s extended 99p Game Pass deal for the whole Week 14 schedule, because this one carries the kind of gravity that can flip the AFC playoff picture.
Ever since quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to the lineup in Week 9, the Ravens have been hell-bent on reclaiming control of the division.
They were 1-5 at that point, and the odds were stacked against them. Even the most optimistic Ravens' fan would be forgiven for thinking the playoffs were beyond them.
But fast forward to now, and after winning four of their last five games, they're tied for the division lead and eyeing a win that would fall just shy of almost guaranteeing them a postseason berth.
If Baltimore needed any reminder that the work is far from done, it came in the form of a humbling loss against the Joe Burrow-led Bengals last week.
After that upset, the challenge is once again to dust themselves down, avoid committing turnovers, rediscover their winning ways, and stick it to the Steelers on Sunday.
Offensively, and despite going three games without either a passing score or a rushing touchdown, Lamar Jackson remains the best hope, blessed with the kind of dual-threat ability that makes him look designed in a Madden simulation.
His pass-catching weapons, while not as deep as other playoff contenders, comprise of wideout Zay Flowers - on track for a career year in receiving yardage - and tight end Mark Andrews, who should be extra-motivated by his recent blockbuster extension.
On the ground, the power of tailback Derrick Henry provides the thunder to Jackson's lightning, with both capable of penetrating unsuspecting defenses that sell out to stop the other.
And defensively, while underperforming most of the season, linebacker and green dot-wearer Roquan Smith combines with Kyle Hamilton, the league's highest-paid safety, to lead a unit that can, at its best, impose its will on opponents.
Pittsburgh has spent the week talking openly about resetting and moving forward, and this trip to Baltimore is the first real opportunity to prove that their new mindset is more than just words.
At 6-6, nothing is secure, but nothing is out of reach either, especially with an opportunity to steal a divisional road win from their AFC North rivals.
The offense, led by legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers, is desperately trying to push reset, simplify, and stabilise after dropping its two games in a row and five of the last seven.
If they can find some balance early and avoid falling behind, the Steelers give themselves a real shot.
There's a committee approach - of sorts - in the backfield, where Jaylen Warren is handling most of the rushing load, and Kenneth Gainwell is the better option in the passing game.
The leading pass-catcher may change from game to game, but wideout D.K. Metcalf remains the most dangerous option, capable of dominating smaller defensive backs with his imposing mix of size and physicality.
Defensively, there's usually a trio of players capable of creating disruption, but Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig may be asked to shoulder a bigger workload than usual if veteran T.J. Watt (toe) cannot get healthy.
The Steelers D may also be without linebacker Patrick Queen, who exited Week 13 with a glute injury and hasn't practiced since. Second-year player Payton Wilson will be promoted to a full-time role if Queen cannot go.
The Ravens' playoff odds, currently 69%, improve to 84% with a win and drop to 38% with a loss.
The Steelers' playoff odds, currently 31%, improve to 62% with a win and drop to 15% with a loss.
This really is season-shaping territory for both teams.
Pittsburgh lead the series 36-27-0, but the Ravens have won their last two meetings, including a 28-14 drubbing in last year's Wild Card round.
Baltimore has the more dynamic quarterback and, except for the defensive pass rush unit, the better supporting cast.
If Watt plays, it’s tight. If he doesn’t, the edge swings decidedly in the Ravens' favour.
Ravens 27 – 17 Steelers
