Brandon Figueroa is relishing the prospect of going into the lion’s den when he takes on Nick Ball.
The Texan has never boxed outside of the US before but will venture into his opponent’s back yard when he takes on Ball at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Saturday February 7, live on DAZN.
The former super bantamweight champion is bidding to win a title at a second weight as he challenges for Ball’s WBA featherweight belt but he isn’t fazed about having to travel for the opportunity.
"Yes, this is actually his territory, literally. So yeah, it's the first time," Figueroa told The Ring.
"When I fought Luis Nery it was at Carson, California so it wasn't really necessarily his territory but here, it's Nick Ball’s city.
"So, it’s a special, special night."
Both men like to get on with things and Figueroa believes their styles should gel perfectly for an exciting contest.
"I think my style of fighting is just very aggressive, very come forward. I hardly go back," he added.
"I'm always pressuring, pushing the fight and styles make fights so we just have to see until how it plays out.
"I can't really say anything right now but I know that my style of fighting is just very awkward, very unique."
