Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions have signed heavyweight prospect Delicious Orie to their stable, after the Team GB star made the call to turn professional.
The 27-year-old, who competed for Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is the latest rising star to pen a deal with one of British boxing's most famous promoters.
Orie, who won gold at the 2023 European Games at Krakow and Małopolska in the super-heavyweight division, joins an exciting roster of homegrown talent under Warren.
The veteran promoter, who bolstered his ranks with the addition of Adedeji Adegbola last month, professed his delight at tying down his latest acquisition to professional terms.
"Delicious has got everything stacked in his favour to make himself a major success," Warren wrote in a post to social media.
"He is skilful, powerful, popular and charismatic and I am certain the British public will get behind him in a big way as he makes his way in the sport."
Speaking exclusively to DAZN News, Orie is excited by the plans he has with Queensberry and is hoping this partnership will steer him towards the top of the heavyweight division.
"They've got a very, good game plan and strategy now," Orie said.
"I feel like I can really excel and progress with Queensbury. With their track record and how they build their fighters, I do believe we can go all the way to the top together and have massive fights at the end of it."
In addition to his success with Great Britain, Orie was also a gold-medal winner in the super-heavyweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
He had been expected to challenge again for medal success at Paris last year, but suffered a shock first-round loss to Armenia's Davit Chaloyan by split decision in France.
Orie leaves the amateur ranks with a 29-9 record, including two knockouts, and could contest his first professional bout as soon as later this year.
