Chris Eubank Jr. wants to make one key improvement for Conor Benn rematch after 'disappointing' win

Eubank Jr. vs Benn II exclusively on DAZN - Nov 15

Chris Eubank Jr. may have the bragging rights after beating Conor Benn in April, but it was a performance which he describes as a 'disappointment'.

After three years of build-up, Eubank Jr. and Benn wrote the latest chapter in an iconic British sporting rivalry at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April in a Fight of the Year contender.

As expected once Eubank Jr. was declared the winner by unanimous decision, a rematch would soon follow with the fight set for November 15, and it will be broadcast exclusively live on DAZN

With Benn jumping up two weight divisions to meet Eubank Jr. at middleweight, it was expected that 'The Destroyer' would fall foul of exhaustion in the second half of the fight which would allow Eubank Jr. to pick him off at will.

Instead, the pair traded leather for 12 brutal rounds which saw momentum frequently swing from one fighter to the other come the final bell.

Reflecting on the first Benn fight, Eubank Jr. was frustrated with how it played out and has one outcome on his mind when it comes to the rematch.

"I won the first fight which I was proud of, but at the same time there was disappointment in that victory," he told Inside The Ring

"I wanted to make sure that he didn’t see the 12th round, I wanted to make sure there was no question as to who was the better fighter. The fact that Conor Benn can come away from that fight saying that he hurt me, that’s all lies.

"I want it to be conclusive this time around, I want to get him out of there."

Maybe the presence of trainer Brian 'Bomac' McIntyre in the corner on fight night may be what's needed for Eubank Jr. to get the knockout win he craves.

McIntyre is one of boxing's best coaches, playing an instrumental part in Terence Crawford's rise through the pound-for-pound rankings and his win against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to become the undisputed super middleweight champion in September.
