Frazer Clarke vs. Jeamie TKV Keys to Victory: Breaking down tactics of each fighter

Any respect that Frazer Clarke and Jeamie TKV showed each other during the buildup to their fight will go out the window tonight when they sling leather for the vacant British heavyweight title at Vaillant Live in Derby, United Kingdom.

Clarke (9-1-1, 7 KOs) rebounded from being brutally knocked out in the first round by Fabio Wardley in their October 2024 rematch by generating a first-round TKO of his own against Ebenezer Tetteh in April. Meanwhile, TKV (8-2, 5 KOs) is coming off a TKO loss to David Adeleye in the spring as well.

Not only will the winner get to claim the British heavyweight title, but could also set himself up for grander opportunities in 2026. Will Clarke prove to be too heavy-handed for TKV and produce the clinic he vows to? Or will TKV box his way to the upset?

Tonight’s bout takes place on the same day that Ben Whittaker clashes with Benjamin Gavazi in light heavyweight action in Birmingham, UK, and live and exclusively on DAZN. With the stakes for Clarke and TKV riding high, DAZN News analyzes their Keys to Victory.

Black Friday 2025 three day trial

Frazer Clarke’s Keys to Victory

Assert the jab

Frazer Clarke has a crisp, clean jab that he could use to carve out the space needed to operate aptly, while also keeping a healthy distance from Jeamie TKV who will be trying to get inside on the bigger man.

It's a must he asserts the jab early, using the stick often.

Muscle TKV around

Whether it is resorting to the clinch or simply pushing off on TKV, Clarke can also dictate the pace of this bout by muscling the smaller man around.

Doing this effectively could keep Clarke in front on the scorecards and frustrate TKV along the way as the latter’s ability to change levels would be hindered by having to constantly reset.

Uncork the left hook out of the clinch

Taking a page out of David Adeleye’s book, Clarke would be wise to attempt to uncork a left hook out of the clinch. For Adeleye, it resulted in dropping TKV and finishing him moments later.

Clarke should attempt the same to test if TKV has learned, grown and made necessary adjustments from fight to fight.

If he hasn’t, Clarke has the deceptively fast hands to make TKV taste the canvas and perhaps stay there.

Jeamie TKV’s Keys to Victory

Dictate the pace of the fight off the jab

As the smaller man in this bout, Jeamie TKV naturally changes levels well and can use the speed in his movement to fight off the jab.

Something further that bodes well for TKV is the wide guard that Frazer Clarke fights with. The defensive stance will leave TKV with an open lane to fill up with the jab.

A major key will be TKV’s ability to be the first to the punch consistently.

Dress up the jab as a distraction punch

As TKV finds a regular home with his jab, he should consider dressing up the stick as a distraction for a right hook or even an uppercut.

After all Fabio Wardley did this in his rematch with Clarke, throwing a left-handed jab to the gloves of ‘Big Fraze’ for the distraction, before wrapping an overhand right around the guard toward a first-round TKO.

Jabbing at Clarke’s gloves before blasting around his guard with a right hook or through it with an uppercut could yield excellent results toward TKV’s upset chances.

Launch the overhand right

It worked for Wardley and TKV should launch the overhand right himself. Landing this punch around Clarke’s wide guard could result in doom for ‘Big Fraze’ if TKV can time the shot right.

He must load up and sling the punch at the right moment. Landing it explosively could be his best bet for the upset.
