Jake Paul further extended his record over the weekend with a second straight victory over a former world champion as he dispatched Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in California.
'The Problem Child' convincingly outpointed his opponent to further underscore his rise through the cruiserweight division, as he takes aim at an unlikely world title shot.
For years, the sport's major sanctioning bodies - the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF - have hinted that Paul could move onto their respective rankings sooner rather than later.
Now, for the first time in his career, the Ohio native has officially moved onto a world ranking chart, opening the door for him to possibly challenge for a major strap this year.
So, just where is Jake Paul ranked in the cruiserweight division? DAZN News has all the information you need about 'The Problem Child'.
Jake Paul is currently ranked 14th by the World Boxing Association (WBA), following his victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

'The Problem Child' defeated the former middleweight champion by unanimous decision in Anaheim, on a bill that also included WBA champion Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez.
Paul has also been tipped to make the WBC rankings sooner rather than later, in a move that could open the door to a title challenge there too against holder Badou Jack.
In order for a world title bout to be sanctioned, Paul would need to be ranked by one of the sport's four major sanctioning bodies - and with his WBA placement, is now in the mix.
The WBA crown is currently held by Ramirez, who unified his strap with the WBO belt held by Chris Billam-Smith last November, before defending them against Yuniel Dorticos.

With Paul now ranked, he could theoretically be sanctioned to challenge for the WBA belt in his very next bout - but it is unlikely that he would be able to face Ramirez so soon.
This is because he currently sits near the lower end of the spectrum at 14th. A more likely scenario could be a bout with a fellow ranked contender in the interim period.
Victory there would see his standing improve and help him further climb the ranks for a shot at the title - though there is nothing to stop him vaulting the rest of the division for it too.
