Usyk vs Dubois 2: Briton gets knockout support from international side before Wembley showdown
Daniel Dubois took time out from his preparations to face Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley Stadium this weekend to receive a special shirt from the England rugby league team.
The IBF title holder faces his old foe in a highly-anticipated rematch for the undisputed heavyweight championship on Saturday, bidding for the WBA, WBC and WBO straps.
Dubois returns to the sight of arguably his greatest triumph for the bout, having dispatched Anthony Joshua in five rounds last September to cement his position atop the sport.
But now, England will hope that he can pass on some knockout tips a hundred days before their own date at Wembley Stadium against Australia as part of the 2025 Ashes Series.
Shaun Wane's side will face the Kangaroos for the first time since the 2017 Rugby League World Cup Final later this year, resurrecting a tour that has not been played since 2003.
Following their first game in London on October 25, the two sides will meet at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on November 1, returning to the sport's northern M62 heartland.
The series will then conclude at Headingley Rugby Stadium in Leeds, amid preparations for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, to be held in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Dubois, meanwhile, will have his focus exclusively on exacting revenge against Usyk, who previously defeated him in 2023 via a ninth-round knockout at Poland's Stadion Wrocław.
