It's that time of year again, when teams across Europe look to bolster their squad as the January transfer window opens for business.
There's set to be a wave of transfer activity in Serie A, as clubs hone in on their targets for the rest of the campaign, so here are six moves that could happen this month.

There's been speculation on the young Manchester United midfielder's future ever since the summer window closed, and he'll be at the forefront once again in January. Mainoo has yet to convince Ruben Amorim of a regular place in his team and his lack of first-team football has seen him fall away from the England fold.
He's yet to start a game for United this season, and his situation is being monitored by clubs at home and abroad, with Serie A heavyweights Juventus and champions Napoli both very keen on recruiting the 20-year-old.

Another player heading for the Old Trafford exit and possibly a return to Serie A is Joshua Zirkee. The Dutchman was signed by previous United boss Erik ten Hag but has failed to make an impact at the club, especially under Ruben Amorim.
The forward has only managed one start and one goal so far in 2025-26, and with it being a World Cup year, needs first team football. Roma, Juventus and former club Bologna are all waiting to open talks to bring the player back to Italy.

Things have never quite worked out for the striker at West Ham, a familiar story for the Hammers and their record on signing forwards over the years, and it could see Fullkrug make a move away from the Premier League in January.
The German has suffered from fitness and form ever since he joined the East London club, so a fresh challenge could suit all parties, with AC Milan reportedly already having opened talks with the player as they look to add another option to their attack.

Therefore, the Rossoneri need to get a deal tied down with the goalkeeper or contemplate cashing in during January to avoid him leaving on a free at the end of the season.

Inter's midfield has been one of the key components of their title bid this season, making it difficult for those squad players looking for more minutes. One of those is Fratessi, who has only started one Serie A game this season and could look for more opportunities come January.
Nottingham Forest were linked with the midfielder in the summer and could revive their interest, but there's also interest from at home too, with Juventus and Como monitoring the situation.

Still only 30, the defensive midfielder, who will be part of Denmark's World Cup side, is being targeted by Luciano Spalletti as he looks to reboot his Juventus side in the second half of the campaign.
