Rocky Fielding has expressed an interest in facing fellow Liverpudlian Darren Till in a boxing match despite his comeback to the sweet science being delayed.
Three years after being stopped by Dan Azeez in a British and Commonwealth light heavyweight title fight, Fielding was set to lace up the gloves against Brandon Glanton in Nigeria on October 1.
Unfortunately for Fielding, an injury has forced him to withdraw from the contest with Marcus Browne taking his place in the main event which will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Since being knocked out by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez seven years ago, Fielding put together a three-fight knockout streak before losing to Azeez and has not stepped into the ring since.
Speaking to iFL TV, Fielding expressed an interest in facing Till who since making his Misfits Boxing debut at the start of the year, has become one of the promotion's biggest names.
"No conversations yet, there has been, and I think with my comeback, we’ll see what doors open," Fielding said.
"That’s been back and forth for two years."
After beating Luke Rockhold last month by third knockout, Till called out Carl Froch in an attempt to bring 'The Cobra' out of retirement.
While this is certainly a lucrative matchup, it has very little chance of materialising, Fielding on the other hand believes he would be a more than ideal opponent for the former UFC star with his relaxed stance towards a deal.
"I’m not going to say I’m the A-side, I’m not going to say I want this much, I’m not going to say I want to ringwalk first.
"I’ve said a date and a reasonable offer, and I’ll take the fight no problem."
