With 2025 quickly coming towards an end, the focus for next year’s plans are ongoing in all industries including boxing.
As well as that contest, many other bouts are rumoured to be taking place next year with Vergil Ortiz vs Jaron Ennis and Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua highly speculated to be made official at some point in the next 12 months.
This year, boxing fans have been treated to several high-profile fights with numerous events featuring classic battles including rematches such as Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol and Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois.
In September, Canelo Alvarez faced Terence Crawford at super-middleweight, and it was the latter who had his hands raised as his profile soared in victory.
Tony Bellew, a former world champion and now one of boxing’s shrewdest analysts, has had his say on three fights he would like to see in 2026.
Naoya Inoue vs Bam Rodriguez is first for me. The skill involved in that is just on another level and it’s two fighters at the top of their game,” said Bellew when speaking to DAZN News .
“I know there’s a couple of divisions between them at the moment, but if they can agree on a weight where both are happy then that’s fireworks.
“Gervonta Davis is another fighter I want to see have a big fight next year. If Shakur Stevenson can get past Teofimo Lopez, then Tank vs Shakur is massive.
“David Benavidez also deserves a big fight at light-heavyweight, so I don’t mind him going in with either Bivol or Beterbiev.”
