When you talk all-time great British heavyweights, the names that come up the most are Lennox Lewis, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury.
Could IBF titlist Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) enter the conversation if he can dethrone the undefeated Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and become the undisputed heavyweight champion this Saturday from Wembley Stadium in London, live on DAZN PPV? When asked that question by DAZN's Ade Oladipo, former world champion Darren Barker thinks so.
"Those two (Fury and Joshua) haven’t done it," Barker told Oladipo. "I go back to the meaning of those belts. If you’re carrying all of them and beating a generational great, then you have to be."
Out of Dubois' 22 wins, 21 have come by way of knockout. After losing the first Usyk fight by ninth-round knockout in August 2023, Dubois went and KO'd Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Joshua in succession.
"He’s still an improving fighter," Frampton said. "He’s only 27 years old. In terms of a heavyweight, that’s nothing really. At least another ten good years in Daniel. Ten years of improvements. That’s a scary prospect to think about. If he wins and pulls it off, it’s gonna be a massive win. One of the biggest British wins of all time."
