Exclusive - Former world champion names surprising fight he is looking forward to most on huge Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker show

Barry Jones, like most in attendance at the ‘Last Crescendo’ workout, was an excited figure as he stood amongst some of boxing’s biggest names. 

The former world champion, now one of the most respected voices in boxing, is in Saudi Arabia to call the action when the show gets underway on Saturday, live on DAZN PPV. 

Headlining the event is the fascinating rematch that will see Artur Beterbiev defend his undisputed light-heavyweight title against Dmitry Bivol . 

Last October, Beterbiev claimed all four world titles at 175lbs as his spirited finish down the stretch was enough to see him take the nod on the scorecards.

Elsewhere on the show, Daniel Dubois will look to make a second successful defence of his IBF crown when he goes in with veteran New Zealander, Jospeh Parker . 

Despite those two contests containing the bulk of the glamour, it is another bout on the bill that has piqued the interest of Jones as he is massively looking forward to the middleweight world title contest between Carlos Adames and Hamzah Sheeraz . 

The Dominican man will be aiming to retain his crown, but in Sheeraz, he is coming up against one of boxing’s most in-form fighters, and Jones is eager to see how it plays out. 

“It’s the fight I’m most curious about and I think we could be crowning a new British world champion,” said Jones when speaking exclusively to DAZN News. 

“This is the real test. Adames is massively underrated with his boxing skills and his presence, and he’s also boxed at the higher level. 

“This is a fight where we have to see the best Hamzah Sheeraz and I think we just might.”
